1988 Alabama SSP
Considering selling the 1988 Alabama DPS SSP. 1 of 31, the only fully restored car I know of in private hands. This car has been fully restored to in-service condition, every nut and bolt was taken off this car and either clean, restored, or replaced. The car is rust free and mechanically perfect. All panels except the front bumper cover and rear deck are original and have the VIN stickers still on them. I have the original sticker off the original front bumper cover and I still have the original rear deck but I chose not to use it since it had rust on the rear seam, it is still restorable if desired I just have not gotten around to it.
This car came equipped from Ford with Manual windows, doors, mirror, lock and no cruise control. It does have cold A/C, (with new lines and compressor) am/fm cassette radio. The car has the usual resto items, new paint, tires, wheels, carpet, engine, transmission, driveshaft, cooling system, HVAC system, moldings, headlights, fuel tank, exhaust, etc. I would confidently drive this car anywhere. Most of you guys have seen this car in person or followed the restoration but if not here is the link: http://www.specialservicemustang.net...hlight=Alabama Some of the links are broken so here is my photobucket album: http://s223.photobucket.com/albums/d...20SSP/?start=0 $17,000 http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...11/Aaron-1.jpg http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...itt/45th/2.jpg http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...SSP/ALrear.jpg http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...SP/ALfront.jpg |
Aaron, that had to be a difficult decision for you to make. Your SSP is a wonderful car, and I hope you find a deserving home for it.

WOW!!!!
|
I enjoyed following your restoration of this car. Beautifully done. Best of luck with the sale.

Best wishes but I don't think you will need it on this one. I most recently had a chance to see Aaron's Alabama SSP during the PCOOA KC event. Saying it is a real beauty would be an understatement. Hard to imagine anyone being able to do better price wise buying an SSP in this condition, rarity, etc.

Thanks for the kind word everyone! It was a very fun car to restore and I have had a blast with it at shows and events the past 3 years. I know I will regret selling it but it’s time to move on.

+1...that took about as long, or rather short, as I figured it would :-)
|
Hope everything works out for you. Yet another absolutely beautiful representation of these cars.

Aaron, Congrats on the quick sale of a sweet ssp!! You will miss it!
|
Thanks guys, the new owners are great guys and the car really did go to a great home. I think they are taking it to it's first show down there this weekend.
|
It will be the center of attention at that show, for sure.

We finally had some nice weather, so I took them both out for some pics. Haven't taken either to a show yet, but plan on doing so very soon.
Still need to get the "State Trooper" decals for the Texas DPS and finish hooking up the Jetsonic and Arrowstick. |
Jonathon,
welcome and glad to see you got the car. very rare for sure. Hope to see you at a show in 2012. |
Congrats on the purchase. Very nice!

Those look good together...nice contrasting colors.
