Custom Police Plates
1 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys,
Found a vendor on Ebay that is making a special plate for my WinterPark SSP. I have emailed him to ask if he can also do other states and am awaiting his repsonse. At a minimum, he can do Florida Municipalities. I will keep you posted when I hear back from him. Attachment 2025 |
Barry - Pretty neat plate!

Hey Guys, He has confirmed he can do all states. I paid $9.99 + $3.50 shipping. He can customize, I chose my "unit number" , but it is whatever you want on the plate. I hope this helps. |
Thanks Barry for posting.

I ordered the Oregon State Police plate for mine
|
Received my tag on Friday ...http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/6147/ohptag.jpg

Are the plates metal or plastic and do they have flat or raised letters?
|
they are metal but the finish is smooth. no raised letters
|
You can not tell they are not raised until you get right up on them. The metal thickness is pretty decent, probably the same as a tag available at auto parts stores....

Does anyone have a clear photo or know what is wrote on the left side of the Washington State Patrol license plates? I just sent the above guy an email asking him, but incase he does not know was hoping someone here did.
Thanks. |
Can anyone confirm this to be the right plate for WSP in 1989?...just currious because it looks a lot like the current ones.
My car is 16-9-200 so I am using 200 as the car #. Not sure if this is correct, but at least it is a number I can tie to my car. |

Just placed my order for two plates. With shipping it was $24.70. Norbet was very quick in getting me the design and with all my questions. I will post pics of the actual plates when they arrive.

I bought one today for my North Carolina SSP...$13.89 price drew me in as I didn't really feel like spending a couple hundred on this one since these SSP's changed plate #'s every year. Used the plate number off a slick top NCSHP black & silver like mine w/same interior color that I have a picture from. Quick turn around too as it will ship out Monday.
The PlateMeister ones are awfully nice, however, for my Missouri SSP in which case I did know correct plate number. Thanks again Barry for mentioning this fellow here. |
:)
Anytime!

For anyone who is curious, here's what the acutal (non-proof) end product looks like. Hard to beat for $13.89.

I ordered some California tags for CHP #2920. He did a great job. He will work with you and email you samples until you are satisfied with the final product. Not bad for $9.99 each + shipping.

+1...I've had a few diff't ones done and his work is real good...especially for the price as compared w/Platemeister and I have products from both. :)

I had posted this once before a few years ago
it's the Wax on Wax off version of Valid plates on Valid plates off. behind the Valid plate i use the Fuzzy side of a Velcro adhesive so it will not scratch the novelty plate. roll up at car show, pop trunk Un-du 4 wing nuts pull magnetic strips off the decal area's of the car magic duster and your done. also..had the novelty plates made in Phoenix a few years ago. guy is not in business anymore? http://i48.tinypic.com/xe0iyp.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/2uj31qx.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/2aiilxs.jpg |
Andy - That's a great idea! I have been trying to think of an easier way to make the switch for car shows and it sounds like you have figured it out. :goodpost:
|
I also did the simular mounting by using 1/4" bolt 4" long cutting it in three so each bolt is abound 1 1/4" long. Usuing a acorn nut, I wrenched in so it stuck out enough to put a regular nut and washer to hold registration plate on tight. I cover the extender bolt with the acorn nut and snugged it to the regular nut lightly tightened so it looked nice and clean. When I put the display plate on, I just take off the acorn nut, mount the plate on the bolt and snugg up the acorn nut. It looks good from a short distance. Just a added thought for quick mounting display plates.

i like this Sub Mustang Hobby more and more all the time people at car shows have No Idea what the hell this USPS car thing is all about?????. or why you made a Mustang look like a Police car????? in my case........Or Or Or It goes on and on. We (you and me) ALL OF US have educate people at the local level at public events Like the local car shows. The Postal service had Mustangs???? What!... get ready for the so called Mustang experts....they are gonna challenge you. they challange me all the time at car shows. Again Looks Great thanks again Mike....... for giving us a place to hang out! |

A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. I've run into those "experts" too. My approach is to educate and let them talk and talk...have a little fun with them...they tend to make themselves look bad on their own the more they talk. |
