GMP Prices?

I'm looking at completing my GMP SSP set and was wondering what the current value of these cars are? I assume some cost more than others. I'm still looking for FHP, Texas DPS and Georgia State Police.
Thanks
Gary

When we bought ours a few years ago, they where about $100.00 each.

OK, is the Georgia State Patrol car really worth $167.00 plus shipping? Just curious.

Not shure what the pricing would be now?

I wouldn't pay that much. Doesn't mean there aren't people out there that would pay that and then some.

I have all the GMP ssp cars and they are around 125.00 each on ebay. They are all still available.

In my opinion, these cars were a great disappointment in terms of detail. Several members consulted with them, myself included, during the R&D phase of the product. For their highly detailed reputation in the big money die-cast world (GMP), these cars fell short for the market they were projected to. I believe that when we provided our feedback they abandoned the program. Can't believe they are fetching the $$ they are now.

3 years ago I bought 4 of the CHP GMP cars for $35.00 each from a dealer on eBay (they had a hard time selling them back then). I gave 2 away (1 to SSPGary with the UHP car I sold him) and the other to a friend who used to have a Mustang. I still have 2 on display, but they are not the most accurate. The CHP is a 1985 Mustang, but has the 87 SSP 10-hole wheels. To save a buck they used the wheels from their 1985 Mustang GT Hatch model. I can't recall the other inaccuracies, but for a model that retailed at $100+, they should have used the information from their research to get it right.

FHP813 06-12-2009 01:17 PM

$203.50, looks like someone really wanted it

chp1982 06-12-2009 01:23 PM

I agree with you about the let down in detail especially when it came to the price. I can't remember his name but I spoke with someone at GMP who was heading up the effort to release more Fox models with a redesigned (more accurate) front end. They came out very awkward on the 87-93's. Good news I suppose if anyone plans to build their own SSP.

I wish they would just release a plain white notch so I could make it into a WSP car. With WSP not being a "popular" department they only thing you can find is Road Champs Crown Vics....but you can buy the decals to make your own all day long.

+1. I have all of them except for Texas, but I can't see spending that kind of money on the last one to complete my set. I was also disappointed with the inaccuracies; especially the later LX 5.0 and GT sport seats.

EXNODRAMANOTCH 06-14-2009 04:57 PM

I forgot to mention the GMP CHP also has GT fog lights. I wish my real SSP had those so I could put some blue or red lenses and a wig wag controller on them.

100% agree. I think the most I paid for any of mine was $60, and one I even got for free in a trade for some other parts from Jim Y.

I put together a complete set of the White Rose (Fleer) Mustangs, but I wish I would have bought a second set. I kick myself for not buying the complete set with the display case included.

YellowMurci 07-11-2009 09:08 PM

I own them all as well as only one of two South Carolina cars made - and I have only 1 of 1 Texas car made with a lightbar with letters of authenticity from GMP - I am a nut when I want to collect something!! lol!

TxDps 07-12-2009 01:14 AM

I also have a Texas car with a lightbar, and the wrong color decals. I worked with the owner of the company to get that line started and helped him with some of the early prototypes....

Texaspony87 07-12-2009 12:04 PM

I also have a pre-production prototype texas car from my involvement in that project as well as #0003 finished product.

Texaspony87 07-14-2009 12:16 PM

here is prototype
