Addition to the corral

After several years of watching and waiting I finally pulled the trigger on the big one. I have a friend that owns 4 dealerships and the timing was perfect and he had to make room on his showroom floor for an 09 KR that is on the way. I was able to buy this for invoice so it was a deal that I finally couldn't let slip by me. In 20 years I didn't want to be telling "woulda, coulda, shoulda" stories about the one I didn't buy.

So without further adooooo

The car has HID headlights, ambient lighting, and the GT 500 premium trim package as the only options. It was built on September 3rd at the Flat Rock plant and had 2.2 miles on it when I drove it off the showroom floor still in the wrapper. The supercharger kicked in at about 15 miles, and this car is the fastest thing I have ever driven. (wicked fast). I ordered my Shelby signed dash plaque today and plan on a few tastefull mods (lowering springs, carbon fiber air filter kit and tune). I will probably put around 7500 miles per year on it for four years, then put it away.

lol...yeh a few have been suprised (including my bride !) I love the car and have cancelled all plans to build a stroker motored street car out of the 35k coupe I bought. No need to do that now. I am going to try to get the gt500 on the track in Alabama for a few laps.....

and........I am going to be selling some SSP cars. I havn't made my mind up which ones exactly but a few will have to go to help pay off the gt500 and purchase an enclosed trailer. When I decide I will post up some info.

Jim, when you decide which SSP you plan to sell, please let us know. I'm still looking for the right car.

Is this an SSP or 5.0 civilian coupe ?? If it's a civilian coupe and you decide to sell, I might be interested...

Scott

Boy that sounds familiar. I sold off a 43k '91 hatch that I was planning on modding to buy my Bullitt which has way more performance for the buck. Modern muscle wins out again!

I agree......the car is a beast.....even with Michael Buble' playing on the CD player.

3.73's, pulley swap, CAI, Mickey Thompson drag radials, FRPP lowering/handling kit and a tune and it will be even more fun to drive.

I talked with the guys at SVT the other day and they told me that 09 will have far fewer GT 500's produced than 07 and 08 due to the changeover to 2010 body style. I decided to park the car for awhile with it starting to get colder. The deer are moving around alot more with the rut right around the corner and I don't want to hit one on my way home at 615am. I may just take the winter and do all the mods to it and take it to Barber in April.

What? Buble'???:No no: My good friend you are not that close to death....

This it is......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_6BRo9U998

or.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIMkskLhVHk :2thumbs:

or...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6J28OdEKrI

And when power output drops by 50% with that Buble' cd playing, Ford will not warranty the repairs........the bad karma is set for life....

Rarecat 10-13-2008 02:49 PM

Oh no he didn't... did he really say Michael Buble?!?!?!?

My GT-500 would go into limp mode if I even got that CD close to the player.....

By the way, congrats! Check out www.teamshelby.com for all the info you can stand on your new ride...

NoDrama43 10-13-2008 09:39 PM

actually i meant AC/DC.........

my bride is the Buble' fan. ;)
