Colorado State Patrol's 75th Anniversary Car Show

I was contacted about this by a retired CSP Trooper that I met a few years ago while doing research on my '83. The CSP is having their 75th Anniversary celebration this year, Sept 25, 2010, and they are looking to have as many CSP cars there at the academy, restored or not, as possible. I'm seriously considering taking my '83 and showing it as-is. The Ret. Tpr told me that he would have the Major coordinating the show email me with further info, and I'll be sure to pass that along to you all as I get it.

The CSP website makes mention of the celebration and car show, but the link to the .pdf flyer is broken.

That sounds like it will be a lot of fun. Too bad I'm not closer in proximity.

NoDrama43 03-22-2010 09:37 AM

Sounds like a good show to attend. I might try to drive my 90 out.

I put my vacation on the schedule for this event. Still plenty of time to get ready and being at the end of September the weather should be nice.

Traveling I-70

I was planning on taking my FHP to this event also. As we get closer to this event, Jim Y, would love to met you and if your doing the I-70 through KC, would love to travel(carevan) across Kansas with you. Also believe Copcamaro will be traveling from Jeff City, Mo.

NoDrama43 06-22-2010 09:09 AM

I will be travelling across I-70. I hope to have my autopilot in good working order for the great, long, boring, flat, straight, flat, flat state of Kansas.... yawn.

Be happy to meet up along the way.

mbe2598 06-22-2010 03:29 PM

They have some new billboard signs to read. I heard there is at least three new Mcdonald's up in the last three years and Hays, Kansas got a couple new babys to ad to the US population! As we get closer to the event, we will work the logistics out.

ssp91ssp 07-02-2010 12:45 PM

CSP Event !

Major Bratt of the CSP called this morning about the event / hotels and such.
He then metioned that he needed to reach a person with an 83 CSP but had no contact info ??
Mr Evil, that must be you my friend ! I aslo metioned you Jim Y.....
He then asked that you guys contact him some time soon.
Give him a ring when you guys have time.

Barry Bratt of the CSP.

I talked with Major Bratt today. Sounds like a good time. I am planning on leaving early enough in the week to make it to all the events. I will most likely bring my camper also to cut down on the lodging expenses.

ImEvil1 07-02-2010 06:26 PM

He called me today, also. Long drive, but the 75th only comes around once.

Hector,

I missed your question earlier, but my car will definitely be on a trailer.

I think that picture is an '86, but it's hard to tell.

Unmrkd 07-02-2010 07:08 PM

Really nice picture with the background in that part of the country. I'll take a guess that it's a '85. If you look close in the center of the engine bay it appears the shiney item is the air cleaner lid and at the front of the lid you can just see a small patch of black being the air cleaner base. As was stated - very difficult to tell and I certainly could be incorrect, but it's fun to guess.:)

NoDrama43 07-14-2010 09:57 PM

Talked with CSP again this week. This is sounding like it is going to be a great event. Need to get started on prepping the 90 CSP for this show. I am planning on making a full 7 day vacation out of this one.

1991 mustang

Just found the dso tag and its dso 76 which is colorado. Would a 91 be a good canidate for the show. Also mine is a little modded has 5 star svt wheels and cobra brakes but other than that its all stock, well also has a f303 cam in it and some headers.

1FACP40E4MF177154 is the vin do you think colorado would help reunite it with the trooper for the shows?

not to throw a monkey wrench into your documentation but my Idaho State Police also has a Denver CO DSO. Does the car still have the buck tags?

stielow775 07-16-2010 02:16 PM

What do you mean by buck tags, the one that is near the radiator support? if so yes. The drivers side door has been replaced with a 88.

MOstang 07-16-2010 05:05 PM

Go to this link and then click on the icon for Buck Tags...

Matt

I was hoping to reunite my 88 Colorado SSP with it's original trooper also...?
As per Major Bratt , The troopers listed in my CSP paperwork have passed away after retirement.
The Major has been going thru a bunch of old pics to see if he can locate our cars and the original drivers , still have my fingers crossed.

stielow775 08-05-2010 11:30 PM

I have a 86 ssp utah car i still would love to come if that would be ok or is it only co ssp cars?

Also have a 1991.

Let me know.

I don't think it is a secret here. It might seem that way as we tend to focus somewhat less on the social networking aspect of the hobby in comparison to other sites.

I am not going because I have some medical issues I am still dealing with from my on-duty crash a year ago. That and the money I would spend could be utilized better by continuing the work on the barn.

Enjoy the show and take lots of pictures for us. :)
