Early Bucktags

Predator (Brian) sent me a link a few weeks ago to a set of bucktags that consisted of the normal tag (regular size) and a DSO tag that was really small (pic on 4-eyed pride). We talked about it, and I thought that it looked like it had been broken off at some point. Brian felt that it looked like the corners were rounded, and that it hadn't been altered.
Another guy on 4EP sent me a set of tags today that were pulled off of a wrecked car in a junkyard. Brian was right.....the DSO tag I took the pic below of is rounded, and looks original. Anyone ever seen this? The tags decode to an '85 Oregon State Patrol car, BTW. Also...if anyone here has, or knows someone who has, a non-special paint car with only one bucktag, please post up. My '83 CSP car only has one, Jim's '84 OSP car only has 1, and there are several '84s out there the same way, too. |

both of my 84 cars only have one tag. neither are special paint cars. one is white OSP the other dark blue unmarked WSP.
it does not appear that there was a second buc tag attached anywhere on either car. the 83 FHP has two, but it is a special paint car. |

Sorry didn"t mean to shout with last pic... The 85 OSP I own has 2 tags and they are both same size with square corners attached with the same screw (first picture). There is an 85 OSP car in a wrecking yard 40 miles south of me that had the bigger square tag mounted to the rh side of the drivers nose support bracket and a smaller rounded corner Oregon Special Service tag mounted to the left of the bracket ( second picture) Found the build sheets for both my cars, only bad thing is the 85 car has it's stick to floor behind drivers seat but 85% readable.

Here's a picture of the tags from my 85, cleaned them and put them back in place. Production date was 6/85 for mine DSO# 74-0637 and the one in the wrecking yard was 5/85 and it's DSO# 74-0184
