It probably was foolish to bid that high, but I wanted the rack and I figured that the final price would never reach the ridiculous-money I bid on it. That rack is much closer to the one Andy has in CHP #8397, whareas the one I have is the same rack that Rich installed into #8336. I was planning to compare the differences between the two in the hope that I could assemble the right rack for my 4-eye CHP. Plus my experience would have helped others who are looking to restore the CHP Mustang.

Nice of that rack seller to include the photo of mine in his ad! From the date, looks like it was shot at this year's Ripon show.
FYI - I no longer own any spare shotgun racks. The last one I had was a complete example for a Rangr equipped Mustang and it recently went for an in-progress '89 restoration out my way (and not for anything close to that eBay price!). I have photos of some of the pieces from it here: http://public.fotki.com/Classicchp/s...cal/page3.html (photos #57-66) and also still have some tracings of these parts in case anyone needs to fab them. |
Mike,
It'd be great to post the dimensions for the dash brackets. The racks and locks aren't hard to find and modify. |
about 15.00 worth of steel and you can make one that is identical to what you need. CHP fabbed them in their shop anyway.
