Not sure, but aren't the wheels wrong for that year also ?
Shouldn't they be steel ? |
Yes, the 10-holes are on the car because it has 87-up 11" front brakes, which will not work with the steel wheels. Original wheels and caps (and brakes) went with the car when I sold it, but who knows what happened to those...

It's back up for sale, but apparently it needs a new clutch and carb now -

You know when that CHP car brought 35k at a auction down South, I knew it spelled trouble for the hobby. Now there is going to be more flippers/dealers trying to make the big bucks.
I guess it does make members who own SSP's more valuable but doesn't help members who are searching for one. This poor car is less expensive but is priced too high, in my opinion, for the work it needs. Time to tap-out. Jerry |

Do we know (from the previous owners) what, if any, the major issues with the car are? Like why were the brakes changed out for a later year style?
Is this the one that used to be all black that I've seen pics online of? |
Yes, I had the car painted the same black as used on the 2008 Ford Mustangs. I was going to mask off the headlight buckets but never got around to it. The car has a freshly rebuilt/warmed over 302 with 3.27:1 gears. It was built to be a fun driver! I sold it so I could focus on my then-newly found 1985 SMPV CHP Mustang (which I later sold). The subsequent owner painted the white on the car (incorrectly on the C-pillar) and marked it. The correct wheels and front brakes that I included in the deal appear to have been sold off separately. An owner prior to me installed the suspension components. It really was a fun car to drive. If I had the coin I'd buy it back. I'd fix the C-pillar paint, paint the doors black again and drive it all the time!

Thanks for the info Bill. It looks like the front seats have been changed as well since you owned it? The older pics of when it was all black show what looks to be a taller gray seat with a more protruding headrest than what's in it now.
