Got my issue of Popular Mechanics July 1984 today. The bumper lights on the 83's definitely had square housings and round bulbs. They appear to be recessed into housing and bulb possibly seems to be extended.

Update on the 83.
Not much but I have discovered the lights used were YANKEE lights and I did find a pair on elightbars. They were the chrome versions though so I had them sand blasted and powder coated satin black.

Only other thing is I found out it's Perm # is 3083 and it was driven by retired Captain Carlton Stallings badge # 99.

I'm getting really close to finishing my 92 and I will be tackling this one next...
